Dave De Carlo’s visual effects expertise is just as impressive as his editorial skills. When the creative for Bud Light Radler dictated the need for an on-set visual effects supervisor, Dave De Carlo provided the perfect combination of technical VFX and creative storytelling for Anomaly and client Bud Light.

Editors Marc Langley & Michelle Czukar Celebrate National Canadian Film Day 150

On April 19th, to help promote and drive participation in National Canadian Film Day 150 in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, Reel Canada, the non­profit that hosts NCFD, is launching a Canada-wide campaign developed by Leo Burnett Toronto.

The campaign kicks off with two cinema spots that came together with the help of Canadian film industry icons. “The Woman Who Can’t Lie” was directed by Don McKellar and stars Sandra Oh. “The Man Who Was Always Late” was directed by Atom Egoyan and stars Vinay Virmani. The spots are edited by Marc Langley (“The Woman Who Can’t Lie”) and Michelle Czukar (“The Man Who Was Always Late”). This was a fun project, one that we’re proud to have played a part in.

Earning an early Canada Day celebration, Rooster Post Production projects picked up 3 Cannes Lions at the 2014 Cannes Advertising Festival.

Winning a SILVER Lion in the Branded Content & Entertainment category and a BRONZE Lion for the Film category, Branded Entertainment for TV & Cinema was Red Urban & Volkswagen Canada’s “Once More: The Story of VIN 903847” directed by Untitled Film’s Hubert Davis and edited by Rooster Post’s Paul Jutras.

Proving that everyone loves a good Canadian, Molson Canadian “Beer Fridge” won a BRONZE Cyber Lion for Rethink and Molson. “Beer Fridge” was directed by Partners Film director Jonty Toosey and edited by Rooster’s Marc Langley.

Editor Marc Langley Cuts ‘Ron Jeremy’

This revealing little film, directed by Brian Lee Hughes (OPC & Skunk), features adult film star, director and producer, Ron Jeremy, whose films have (sadly) been rejected by the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. The spot was crafted by Rooster Post Production editor, Marc Langley.

According to the Toronto Jewish Film Festival website, “only the best of Jewish film” makes the cut. Sorry Ron.

Rooster is Golden at the 2013 Bessie Awards

2013 BESSIE AWARDS “IT’S GOOD TO BE GOLDEN”

This year was the 50th anniversary of the Television Bureau of Canada’s annual awards show – The Bessies and the theme; “It’s Good To Be Golden.”

Mick Griffin took home Gold or rather, a Gold Jacket for The Heart & Stroke Foundation spot, “The Last Ten” for agency Lowe Roche and creatives – Sean, JP, Simon and producer Sandy Cole. Directed by The Dempseys for OPC/Family Style.

Mick was also recognized as a Finalist in the Editing Craft Category for the “The Last Ten” spot and Rooster Editor Marc Langley’s editing skills got the nod for DDB’s Manulife spot “Working Kids”.

Mick edited the Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism commercial, “Most Easterly Point” for agency Target and Director Alar Kivilo. The spot took another gold jacket in the Craft Awards for Colour – Colourist was Eric Whipp at Alter Ego.

In the campaign category Agency Red Urban’s efforts for Volkswagen where singled out with two campaigns as finalists, the first for “Butcher” & “Horse”, and the second for “Cabin” & “Rear Seats”, both edited by Paul Jutras.
