Rooster is pleased to announce that Sam McLaren has joined as Partner and Executive Producer.

A creative executive producer, McLaren has a talent for multi-faceted storytelling and is a veteran of the Canadian commercial film industry. Having started her career in production, she transitioned to post-production and spent many years leading the editorial team at Panic & Bob Editing. She then worked at Fort York VFX as an executive producer, where she rounded out her post-production knowledge by developing expertise in CG, visual effects and finishing. Throughout her career, she’s worked on numerous notable projects for brands including Ikea, Budweiser, Alexander Keiths, Ford, TD, CIBC and Canadian Tire.

With her background in production, editorial, and visual effects, McLaren brings a unique perspective on how to best meet the needs of directors, agency creatives and clients in an evolving industry.

“I am excited for Sam to join us and work with our roster of talented creative editors,” said Melissa Kahn, Partner and Executive Producer, Rooster Post. “I have admired her professionally for a long time so having her join Rooster is a big win for us. Her great breadth of experience brings an informed and unique perspective. I can’t wait to partner with her.”

McLaren’s commercial production work has won numerous awards. It includes FCB Canada’s “Anything But Sorry” for the Canadian Down Syndrome Society, which won 13 Lions at the Cannes Lions, Vim “Prison Visitor,” directed by the The Perlorian Brothers, which won a Gold Lion in Cannes, and Sick Kids’ “Better Tomorrows,” directed by Mark Zibert, which won a Silver Health Lion. She’s worked on many Super Bowl spots over the years out of DDB Chicago, a number of which topped the USA Today Ad Meter poll, including BudLight’s “Magic Fridge,” and Joe Pytka’s Budweiser commercials featuring the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales and Dalmatians.

“Returning to the editorial world and seeing the creative process unfold is something I’m really looking forward to,” added McLaren. “The studio’s roster of talent is second-to-none and I’m confident in the great work we’ll do together.”
